Singapore Ministry of Law Public Consultation on Guide for Use of GenAI in the Legal Sector - ALITA Response Submitted

ALITA is pleased to have submitted a response to the Singapore Ministry of Law Public Consultation on Guide for Use of GenAI in the Legal Sector, which consultation period closed on September 30.

ALITA believes that the Singapore MinLaw GenAI Guide will bring tremendous value to the providers of legal-related services (individuals and organisations), including legal departments, SME law firms and international law firms in Singapore and beyond.

In the words of ALITA Co-chair Brian W Tang, "The survey respondents shown in our ALITA State of Legal Innovation in Asia-Pacific Report 2025 launched at TechLaw.Fest told us that this is exactly the type of industry-wide initiative that legal professionals appreciated guidance from industry governing bodies to assist them to navigate the complexity of AI adoption in the legal sector. And so ALITA is pleased to present some constructive practical suggestions and seek some drafting clarifications to support MinLaw in finalising the Singapore MinLaw GenAI Guide. I want to thank the many ALITA members and community leaders who contributed their time and thoughts to this MinLaw consultation response."

ALITA members may request a copy of our MinLaw consultation response by sending an email to our ALITA Administrator.
