3rd edition of the alita awards held at techlaw.fest 2023 @ Suntec singapore on september 21 & 22!

ALITA launched the 3rd installation of its flagship ALITA Awards, with the final Award ceremony held in conjunction with Techlaw.Fest 2023! ALITA Awards were launched with the aim of giving voice and recognition to contributors of legal technology and legal innovation ecosystem across Asia-Pacific.

In 2023, ALITA Awards was presented LIVE in person at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on September 21 and 22.

ALITA AWARDS 2023 CATEGORIES

Each of the ALITA Award categories are unique to its pool of nominees, in order to better recognise heroes in the legal innovation and legal technology arena - both sung and unsung.

The ALITA Awards 2023 description and criteria for all 6 categories are as follows:

  • Entry is FREE for all award nominees.

  • Nominee MUST BE AN ALITA MEMBER to be eligible to submit Award nomination. If you / your organisation is not yet an ALITA Member, click HERE to sign up now!

  • Each nominee may apply for the following award category combination:

    • For organisations - ONE organisation award category and/or the Outstanding Legal Innovation / Legal Technology (LILT) For Good Award;

    • For individuals - ONE individual award category (nominee must be affiliated with an ALITA member organisation) and/or the Outstanding Legal Innovation / Legal Technology (LILT) For Good Award.

things to prepare for nomination

  1. The nominated individual / organisation must be from a jurisdiction listed under UNESCAP.

  2. A one (1) page summary of the nominated project, product or innovation for a nominating organisation, OR a one (1) page biography of the individual award nominee.

  3. A 3-minute video submission describing the nominated project, project or innovation for a nominating organisation, OR a 3-minute slideshow showcasing the legal innovation journey of the individual award nominee (Psst… The more photos, the better!).

F.A.Q.

  • Nomination for the ALITA Awards 2023 closes at 23:59hr (GMT+8) on August 25, 2023 (Friday).

    Three (3) Finalists will be selected among all nominations received for each of the 6 Award categories.

    Finalists for each Award category will be informed via email, based on the contact details in the nomination form submitted.

    All Award Finalist will be contacted by September 6, 2023

    Award Finalists will be Invited to attend the Award Ceremony in-person at TechLaw.Fest, Asia’s largest law and technology conference, which will be held in person at SUNTEC Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

    Winner for each Award category will be announced at the Techlaw.Fest 2023.

  • All nominations must be from a Member of the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (ALITA). Further details as follows:

    • For Organisation-based awards, the nominated organisation must be a Member of ALITA.

    • For Project-based awards, at least one project team member must be affiliated with an ALITA member organisation.

    • For the Individual-based award, the individual nominee must be affiliated with an ALITA member organisation.

  • No, the video does not have to be in English, but you must use English subtitles if it contains languages other than English since all our Judges are native English speakers.

  • The short answer is yes!

    The award categories are broadly grouped into three, namely:

    • Organisation-based awards;

    • Project-based awards; and

    • Individual award.

    Each nominee may submit for ONE (1) award category under each of these groups. This means that you may submit nomination for a maximum of 3 categories.

    E.g. Alex from ABC Co. can submit one nomination for each the Outstanding Legaltech Entrant Award, the Most Impactful Project Award, and the Outstanding Legal Innovator Award.

    Note: Each award nomination requires a separate form submission.

  • Yes, only for minor amendments such as contact details update or typo errors.
