Adeline Chin (Co-chairperson)

Adeline Chin is a legal knowledge management consultant and legal tech evangelist. She is the co-founder of 3 legal-related companies, namely, LawTech Malaysia, Law Asia 365, and Cyrus Book Store.

A University of London law graduate and an MBA holder from Sydney Business School, Adeline has authored several whitepapers and publications relating to KM and legal tech and frequently speaks at conferences both domestically and abroad. 

In her capacity as a KM professional, Adeline has designed, spearheaded and implemented innovative projects that humanize the law. She currently sits as a member of the Tech Expert Committee established under the auspices of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), and is the current Co-Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation and Technology Association (ALITA).

Brian Tang (Co-chairperson)

Brian Tang is the founding executive director of the award-winning LITE Lab at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Law, whose students have won the Georgetown Law Iron Tech Lawyer Invitational and spun-off as lawtech startups. Brian is also a board member of the Fintech Association of Hong Kong and organised Hong Kong’s first lawtech and regtech hackathons whose top team won Global Legal Hackathon in New York. An internationally recognized speaker and author (including of Wiley’s The FinTech Book, The RegTech Book , The AI Book and The LegalTech Book), Brian was previously at global investment bank Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, Wall Street law firm Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and Silicon Valley and King & Wood Mallesons in Perth, Australia.

Narae Lee

Narae is a lawyer based in Seoul, Korea, managing Bliss Law Office. Having worked for tech companies as in-house counsel for the last 10 years, she has extensive experience in advising comaneis on legal and regulatory issues and helping them manage legal risks. Based on her experience as legal counsel, she has a keen interest in enhancing efficiencies of legal services through technology.

As a co-organizer of the Legal Hackers Seoul chapter and the steering committee member of ALITA, she endeavors to promote legal tech in Asian countries. She is a slo a doctoral candidate in corporate law at Seoul National University, researching new legla issues, particularly on designing legal frameworks for AI and blockchain.

Jennifer lim wei zhen

Jennifer Lim Wei Zhen graduated from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law in 2017. Growing up designing websites and dabbling with HTML, she sees legal technology as a perfect marriage of both her loves: technology and the law. Jennifer dreams of a future where legal technology can help create greater access to justice.  She co-founded LawTech.Asia and sits on the executive committee for the Singapore Chapter of Legal Hackers.

Featured in Asia Law Portal’s Top 30 People to watch in the Business of Law in Asia, Jennifer is currently an Associate with WongPartnership LLP.

Maurice L. Rabb

Maurice L. Rabb is a California licensed attorney, diversity & inclusion strategist and legal tech evangelist. He has been living and working in Asia for more than 15 years. During his time in Asia, Maurice has worked for U.S. and Japanese law firms as an international business lawyer and human resources professional. He is the founder of the Tokyo Chapter of Legal Hackers and LegalTechJapan.com. Currently, Maurice is the Senior Manager for Recruitment in Asia for Baker McKenzie, a leading global law firm.

 

HSIANG LOW

Hsiang is Head of Asia-Pacific at SeedLegals, one of the hottest legal tech offerings which provides the legals for creating, funding and running startups. He is also a qualified solicitor in England & Wales, having trained and practiced for over a decade at magic circle lawfirm Linklaters. Hsiang was a founding member and Co-Head of Asia at Nakhoda, an in-house legal tech startup at Linklaters. With over a decade of a unique combination of international legal practising experience and technological product expertise, Hsiang has helped to deliver cutting-edge and game-changing products In London, Hong Kong and across Asia.

Lee Ji En

Ji En is an associate with Ascendant Legal, which operates as a Formal Law Alliance with Norton Rose Fulbright in Singapore. His practice focuses on dispute resolution and competition law.

Ji En has also been an active member of the APAC legal tech community for the last 7 years. As the Chapter Organiser of Legal Hackers Singapore, he co-organised the Legal Hackers APAC Summit in 2018 and the Singapore node for the Computational Law + Blockchain Festival. He also co-founded alt+Law during his university days. He is a regular speaker on issues relating to technology and innovation in law, and has been invited to speak at conferences in many countries, ranging from Korea to Italy to Singapore.

 

nanda min htin

Nanda is an LL.B. candidate at the Singapore Management University (SMU) and is deeply involved in global tech policy projects with the Future of Privacy Forum. Nanda also serves as the Senior Advisor of SMU Legal Innovation & Technology (LIT). Previously, as LIT’s President, he organized Singapore’s first and largest intervarsity virtual legal tech conference, the SMU LIT Hackathon. As a Burmese who is currently based in Singapore, he is passionate about youth development and education, especially within the APAC region. He also enjoys tutoring and trilingual translation in his free time.

 

gautami raiker

Gautami Raiker pursued her Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Rights and is also an Accredited Mediator at Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation. In 2013 she was appointed as a Junior Advocate to the chamber of Senior Advocate Prakash Prabhudesai in Goa and in 2014 she joined an LPO to offer legal services to clients in the UK.

During her stint as Project Coordinator at the tech-business incubator, CIBA, Gautami discovered a huge vacuum in the startup space in Goa. Many did not have access to legal assistance as most lawyers were involved in civil or property litigation.

She found an opportunity in this space and with extensive research, created LawMate.in. LawMate.in provides every help that a business requires, right from registration, company secretarial services, IP registration, to legal documentation, and others.

 

Zane chong weng teng

Zane is a final-year law student in the National University of Singapore, and was formerly the President of the university's legal-tech student club, alt+Law. Heavily involved in the intersection of law and technology for the bulk of his law school journey, Zane's interest as forged through ideas surrounding streamlining and optimisation of the practice of law through innovative solutions. Gradually, his areas of interest has expanded to include the regulation of emerging technologies law such as cryptoassets and DLT applications.
