ALITA is a regional network uniting over 10 countries (and counting) in the Asia-Pacific with a shared purpose: to drive collaboration in legal innovation and technology in the region.

Our Mission

ALITA is a regional network which connects communities physically and virtually to facilitate cross-border collaboration in the space of legal innovation and technology, and promote the sharing of knowledge. Our mission is three-fold:

  1. Promote the development and use of legal technology, as well as to advance thought leadership and education in the fields of legal innovation and technology;

  2. Aid the efforts of national legal technology associations and provide guidance and expertise in the creation and operation of local legal technology associations; and

  3. Enhance connections, collaboration and coordination between legal technology associations, regulators, law firms, technology companies and legal technology interest groups across the Asia-Pacific to generate opportunities for our stakeholders.

ALITA is the missing piece in the puzzle. It will definitively shape the Asia-Pacific as a force for legal innovation for years to come.
— Komal Gupta, Board of Advisors Member, ALITA

Our aims

  • Establish an online portal through which legal innovation knowledge, content, and programming around the Asia-Pacific can be shared in real-time or accessed thereafter on a 24/7 basis.

  • Provide frameworks and toolkits through which legal innovation visions, roadmaps and associations or coordination bodies may be established - and for such experience to be shared.

  • Enable members to share about their countries’ development through the “State of Legal Innovation in the Asia-Pacific Report”, a living document first released at the Stanford CodeX conference in April 2019.
