The Asia-Pacific region is a diverse and complex one. It comprises high-income developed jurisdictions like Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Australia, Japan and Korea, as well as vast countries such India and China and many smaller jurisdictions with less high income.
As a result, ALITA has done two things:
First, when ALITA transitioned to a paid membership operating model to be more sustainable, we introduced a Gross National Income Adjustment to inclusively welcome membership from less high-income jurisdictions as defined by the World Bank, offering a 50% discount to new members from Low/Low-Middle Income jurisdictions, and a 30% discount to new members from Upper-Middle Income jurisdictions.
Second, as we looked towards organisations that serve a similarly broad and large diverse area as the Asia-Pacific, we were inspired by the European Legal Technology Association’s system of Ambassadors. Accordingly, ALITA is pleased to announce its inaugural cohort of ALITA APAC Ambassadors 2025/27!
ALITA APAC Ambassadors serve as honorary brand ambassadors who are energetic domain experts on the ground and are keen to grow and represent the legal innovation and technology ecosystems in their jurisdictions.
ALITA APAC Ambassadors serve two-year terms and:
represent the ALITA brand in their jurisdiction, including potentially representing ALITA at events that ALITA has been invited to attend and or support;
serve as a point of contact for interested parties in their jurisdiction in ALITA, its membership and its activities;
serve as recognised local thought leaders and influencers to share and grow the legal innovation and technology ecosystem in their jurisdiction and beyond; and
will assist ALITA to organise at least one activity in their jurisdiction each year to assist in growing the legal innovation and technology ecosystem in their jurisdiction.
As of September 2025, we are proud to announce the inaugural cohort of our ALITA APAC Ambassadors 2025-27!
