The development of Korea’s legaltech ecosystem has been colourful indeed, with many leading legaltechs emerging in collaboration with law firms, having to address lawyer advertising and unauthorized practice of law challenges from the Korean Bar Association, and now being part of the Korean government’s pro-innovation stance that promotes domestically developed artificial intelligence (A.I.) and legaltech, including for improvement of citizen quality of life and export. Hosted by ALITA’s co-chair Brian Tang, this inaugural Korea roundtable continues the ALITA’s approach in Singapore, Hong Kong and India that brings together Korean legaltech innovators, legal practitioners and university researchers and educators to discuss the latest advancements in legaltech, the role of A.I. in legal service delivery, regulatory developments and the future of legal services across the Asia-Pacific region. Participants will share insights, examine comparative case studies from abroad, and collaborate on strategies to drive legal innovation in Korea and beyond.
