ALITA is excited to invite you to participate in a Pre-Survey on two projects of firsts that we have been developing internally, to help us better understand how to shape them to maximise their value to all our members.
The Legal Tech Observatory
ALITA is setting up the world's first Observatory for Legal Technology in the Asia Pacific(Observatory). The Observatory aims to be a real-time database of players in the legal technology space in Asia, as well as a database of legal tech policies and initiatives, allowing users to compare key elements in an interactive manner. It also serves as a centre for actionable evidence and guidance for jurisdictions, with input from a broad spectrum of legal tech actors. The Observatory will evolve along with industry developments, with more resources on legal tech policy topics, legal tech policies and initiatives, trends and data, and practical guidance on implementing legal technology.
At the heart of the Observatory is an extensive directory of players in the APAC legal tech ecosystem. It will give viewers a clear picture of the vibrancy of the legal tech ecosystem in the APAC region. It also seeks to complement the State of Legal Innovation in the Asia Pacific (SOLIA) Report 2020 by allowing viewers to draw actionable insights through data dissected by jurisdiction, market research, technology and other categories.
The Legal Tech White Paper and Toolkit
While the Asia-Pacific is a hotbed of legal innovation and technology, a closer look reveals an uneven picture in its acceptance and adoption. In addition, while some jurisdictions have actively begun building enabling policy environments for legal innovation and technology, others remain unclear of why and how an enabling jurisdiction-level strategy and roadmap should be built.
Asia-Pacific's first White Paper and Toolkit aim to fulfil two interconnected aims. The White Paper will sound a united and resounding clarion call from stakeholders across the Asia Pacific about the importance and relevance of legal innovation and technology. The Toolkit then seeks to help jurisdictions develop legal innovation strategies and roadmaps of their own, as a first step to the creation of enabling environments for legal innovation.
Pre-survey
We value your views, and want your thoughts and suggestions on how these initiatives can be better shaped to be of the most value to all our members.
The pre-survey will be open to 20 July 2020 (Monday), 11.59 pm (Singapore Time).
We look forward to collaborating with you to shape a better Asia Pacific legal innovation and technology sector, and are excited to hear what you have to say!
For the Asia Pacific,
ALITA
